This one was very long and very challenging. I had to do scaled because my double under are very sporadic. Best advice I could give some one is don’t forget to breathe. About 4 rounds into the 20 min AMRAP my coach said, “Breathe!” I was rowing and without even realizing it, holding my breath. I looked down at my watch and my heart rate was spiked at 167bpm. Following my coaches advice, about three pulls later on the rower and a few deep breathes and my heart rate came back down to 155bpm. I think the excitement and longer duration workout got to me. I was keyed up and not relaxed. As the Marines say, “slow is smooth and smooth is fast.” I was hoping for better, but completed 670 reps in the allotted time. This has been a fun Open and I’m excited for the final wod.
